Fall 2009 Registration Instructions

PLEASE READ ALL REGISTRATION INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY

As of May 1, 2009, the tuition will increase to $1074.00 per credit hour.

ON-LINE REGISTRATION DATES & TIMES:

Rising 4TH YEAR EVENING (Students graduating Sept. 2009 or Jan. 2010): Beginning Monday, April 6
Rising 3RD YEAR DAY (Graduating May 2010): Beginning Tuesday, April 7
Rising 3RD YEAR EVENING (Graduating Jan 2011 or May 2011): Beginning Wednesday, April 8
Rising 2ND YEAR DAY (Graduating Jan 2011 or May 2011): Beginning Thursday, April 9

NO ONE REGISTERS ON FRIDAY, APRIL 10

Rising 2ND YEAR EVENING: Students will be registered by Records & Registration for Summer & Fall 2009 classes. The only classes you may take fall 2009 are your three required courses: Con Law, Evidence, & Civ Pro: Juris.  You will be automatically enrolled in these courses once you have completed the Employment and Disclosure forms and submitted on-line.

Your specific registration time slot will be e-mailed to your Capital e-mail account.

ACTION ITEMS:

EMPLOYMENT AND DISCLOSURE FORMS:
EMPLOYMENT AND DISCLOSURE FORMS MUST BE SUBMITTED ON-LINE PRIOR TO REGISTRATION OR YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO REGISTER. (You will need to login to CULSNet to complete.)

ALL STUDENTS will be on a registration hold until these forms have been completed and submitted.

These forms will be available online from Monday February 23 through Wednesday, April 1.

ATTENTION FIRST YEAR DAY AND EVENING STUDENTS AND SECOND YEAR EVENING STUDENTS: The Office of Records & Registration will not register you until these forms have been completed and submitted.

EXCESSIVE CREDIT HOURS:
Any DAY student registered for more than 16 credit hours must seek permission from the Assistant Dean. A Dean’s Action Form must be completed before the end of the first week of classes. These forms are located in the Office of Records and Registration.

REPEAT COURSE:
If you are repeating a required course, you MUST schedule it during the FIRST AVAILABLE SEMESTER. Please come to the Office of Records & Registration or email us at registrar@law.capital.edu.

CHANGING DIVISIONS:
If you have received approval to switch divisions (day to evening/evening to day) for Fall 2009, you MUST report to the Office of Records & Registration to register on the date listed above for your CURRENT (Spring 2009) status. No evening student may be registered for more than 11 credit hours without seeking permission from the Dean.

[The information below does NOT apply to current 1st year evening or part-time day students.]

Students must maintain a 2.0 cumulative grade point average to remain in school.  Any student who fails to obtain a 2.0 cumulative grade point average will be academically dismissed from school.  Only those students who have obtained at least a 1.9 grade point average may petition for reinstatement.

All graduating students are responsible for meeting the basic graduation requirements which include:

All required courses, satisfaction of the perspective requirement, and the upper-class writing requirement, and either a total of 86 credit hours for those who began prior to Fall 2006 or a total of 89 credit hours, for those who began Fall 2006 or later (See Manual of Policies & Procedures for more detailed requirements).
