Concentration Worksheets

Capital's curriculum provides all students with a broad background in substantive law and legal skills (research, analysis and reasoning) to prepare them for today's practice as well as tomorrow's challenges. At the same time, the Law School's strong curricula offering also permits students to focus their legal study in nine areas -- Children and Family Law, Civil Litigation, Criminal Litigation, Dispute Resolution, Environmental Law, Government Affairs, Labor and Employment, Small Business Entities, and Publicly-Held Companies -- and thereby receive a Certificate of Concentration along with their J.D. degree.

Although each concentration has its own requirements, the student must complete eleven (11) to fifteen (15) credits of course work, earn a minimum grade point average in the selected courses, and prepare a major paper on a topic related to the area. On the right is. Additional information may be found in the view book or Manual of Policies and Procedures. Students should feel free to talk with the faculty advisor for each concentration.

Before embarking on a concentration, you must complete an Expression of Interest Form and turn it into the Office of Records & Registration.
