Registration for the Spring 2008 semester is November 5, 2007 thru November 30, 2007 All students must submit the Disclosure Information form, the Mediation and Dispute Resolution Schedule Request form and (only when applicable) the Deferred Payment or the Employee Provided Payment form, by November 30, 2007. You may register in person at the Office of Records & Registration, fax your forms to 614-236-6972 or mail them to 303 E. Broad Street, Columbus, OH 43215. Divorce Mediation : This course is taught in an intensive format. The scheduled meeting times are as follows:

Externship and Writing Project : Professor will contact enrolled students prior to classes beginning with course specifics. See General Program Notes

Mediation Clinic: This class meets only once on January 8, 2008 from 5:30-6:00 where a flexible schedule is set for each student.
Mediation Theory : A six week self study course administered by Terry Wheeler upon completion of the one week Intensive Mediation course (Grtax 9000 C1-C5).

New Course: An Examination of Conflict and the Designing of Dispute Resolution Processes (Grtax 0906)
This course will aid the student in exploring the root causes of conflict, as well as an examination of the various multidisciplinary approaches to substantive legal dispute processing and conflict resolution. This will involve a study of the disciplines of law, social psychology, anthropology and cross-cultural negotiation as well as an overview of communication theory as it applies to the practice of law and conflict resolution in a today’s complex legal environment. Dispute resolution processes currently in use in by government agencies, private entities, environmental and health practitioners will be explored from the legal standpoint as it relates to legal, anthropology (cross-cultural), social psychology and communication theory in the de-escalation of significant conflicts.
Further, this course will aid the student in acquiring the foundational knowledge necessary to develop, design, implement, regulate and evaluate dispute resolution processes and programs in the legal, court, governmental, environmental, public policy and business arenas. Course topics will focus on developing knowledge of research methods, data collection, data analysis, critical thinking, analytical writing, rulemaking process, and negotiation between different layers of government and organizational behavior – all skills that are indispensable to these efforts

If you do not receive an e-Bill on December 12, 2007 contact the Office of Records & Registration immediately. A copy of your schedule will be put in your mailbox (1 st floor Commons area) 1 week prior to the start of the Spring Semester.

1. Mandatory Email Accounts: All official University communications (registration, billing, etc) are sent to each student’s Capital University Law School email address. Therefore all students must have, and regularly check their Capital University Law School email account.Please contact the IT department at 614-236-6432 with any questions regarding your Capital University Law School email account.
2 . Drop/Add: To drop or add a class after the first week of classes you must obtain permission from your faculty advisor. You must timely complete an add/drop form (available in the Registrar’s Office) to ensure maximum tuition refund. See Financial Information sheet.
