2001 Team Members Jessica Johnson, John Kopf, and Eric Rogers went undefeated in the Northeast Regional rounds of the National Appellate Advocacy Competition, in February, 2001 and advanced to the National quarter-final round at the NAAC Finals in Chicago at the end of March. Team member Jessica Johnson was recognized as the 6th best oral arguer at the nationals. Team member John Langfelder was recognized as the 8th best oral arguer at the regional competition.

In February, 1999 a team comprised of Jennifer Goaziou, Alan Pfeuffer, & Scott Hixson were undefeated in the Northeast Regional Rounds of the National Appellate Advocacy Competition where Mr. Hixson was recognized as the 2nd best oral arguer in the competition. They advanced to the Quarterfinals of the National Final Rounds. In November, Ms. Komasara and Mr. Hixson were ranked 3rd and 4th best oral arguers in the Region VI Rounds of the National Moot Court Competition. Ms. Komasara has been selected as the Editor in Chief of the Capital University Law Review.

The team consisting of Ms. Blumenstiel, Mr. Jordan, & Mr. Judy was one of four qualifying finalist teams in the Northeast Regional Rounds of the National Appellate Advocacy Competition (NAAC) and eventually won the award for the second-place brief in the national final rounds.

The team consisting of Ms. Douglas, Ms. Fulmer Stevenson, and Mr. Rutz was another qualifying finalist team in the Northeast Regional Rounds of the NAAC. At the NAAC finals they advanced to the quarter final rounds. In addition, they won the Region VI rounds of the National Moot Court Competition, also winning the award for the best Petitioner's brief and the best oral argument round. Mr. Rutz was recognized as the best oral arguer at the regional competition. Ms. Douglas also served as Editor-in-Chief of the Capital University Law Review.

The 1978 team represented one of Capital's early successes in interscholastic moot court competition. Team members Dan Hale and Linda Hayman, took first place in both the NAAC regional competition and the Region VI rounds of the National Moot Court Competition, winning the award for the best brief in the latter. They were the first Capital team to win regional honors in both of these national competitions. The other team, consisting of Nich Betascon, Mark Engel, & Mark Riley, took second place in the NAAC regional's and also participated in the national final rounds. This was the first time both of Capital's teams advanced to the national rounds in the NAAC competition.
