Write-On InformationTo all students interested in joining the Capital University Law Review: Every spring, the Capital University Law Review conducts a write-on competition for students who aspire to be on the next year’s Law Review, but who have not graded on. The Law Review is a nationally recognized publication that provides the legal community with scholarly analysis of current legal issues. The Capital University Law Review can be found in law libraries around the country, as well as on electronic sources such as Lexis and Westlaw. It is a completely student-run organization that publishes four issues per year. The Law Review publishes articles from notable scholars in a wide variety of legal fields, as well as articles written by law students here at Capital. Participation in Capital University’s Law Review is a great opportunity for students to satisfy their upper-level writing requirement and potentially have their work published in the Law Review. Membership offers students the chance to develop their skills in legal research, writing, and analysis through participation in the publication process, as well as through the process of writing an article on an important topic within the legal profession and submitting it to the Law Review for possible publication. To enter the write-on competition, students will write an ten-page paper analyzing a selected case. The write-on competition instructions provide students with the materials needed to complete the paper and does not require outside research, similar to the closed memo assignment required in Legal Writing. The Law Review Executive Board will review submissions and evaluate them based on the writing ability, analysis, and technical skills demonstrated in the paper. [ Write-On Instructions (Word Doc) ] Sincerely, Ellen Pellegrini
