
Commencement 2009The Honorable Jeffrey S. Sutton, United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, will be the Law School graduation speaker this year. Judge Sutton was a partner with the law firm of Jones Day Reavis & Pogue in Columbus, Ohio, and served as State Solicitor of the State of Ohio. He also served as a law clerk to the Honorable Lewis F. Powell, Jr. (Ret.), the Honorable Antonin Scalia and the Honorable Thomas J. Meskill. Judge Sutton will be presented with an honorary doctor of laws degree.

Students should arrive no later than 1:00 pm. There will be a class captains picture at 1:05 pm in the Galbreath Pavilion for those graduates selected as class captains. There will be a legacy photo at 1:15 pm in the Galbreath Pavilion for those graduates and their family members who graduated from Capital Law School. Family members scheduled to hood graduates must arrive by 1:30 pm for hooder training on the stage of the Ohio Theatre. The ceremony begins promptly at 2:00 pm. Reception for Graduates and Guests immediately following the ceremony:Ohio State House 4:00 – 5:30 pm Guest InformationTickets required for guest entry. Tickets will be available for pick-up from the Student Affairs Area (Dean DiSanza or Jennifer Carlock) on the 3rd floor during the following times: May 11-15 and 18-22 between 9:00 am and 6:00 pm. Graduate must pick up his/her guest tickets in person unless he/she has notified Dean DiSanza or Jennifer Carlock in advance of other arrangements. All ticket requests have been fulfilled to date. If you need more tickets than you originally requested, e-mail Dean DiSanza at jdisanza@law.capital.edu to be put on the waiting list. If you have tickets you are not going to use, please turn them back in, as we can give them to students who may request more.
